Join Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services’ 31st annual Run to Feed the Hungry, sponsored by Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora, LLP, on Thursday, November 28, 2024! This family-friendly event, presented by KCRA/My58, raises funds and awareness about hunger in our community!

Thanksgiving - Thursday, November 28, 2024
Start Times:
10K - 8:15 a.m. (timed runners), 8:20 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. (untimed participants)
5K - 9:00 a.m. (timed runners), 9:05 a.m. - 9:40 a.m. (untimed participants)
Location:
The event features a loop course that starts on J Street just west of the entrance to the Sacramento State campus and runs through the beautiful tree-lined streets of East Sacramento.
Parking:
Plenty of free parking is available in and around Sac State. Please be advised that the J Street entrance to Sac State will be closed to all vehicles until after the race concludes. Additional parking exists on the residential streets between 56th and 58th Streets between M and H Streets.

For quick arrival and departure, consider biking to Run to Feed the Hungry. Free bike parking will be available near the start line. Bring a lock for security.
Teams:
Team members receive an upgraded, gender-specific technical shirt, the option to be timed at no additional cost, and access to the race day Team Area. The Team Area serves as a pre-race meet up space and features heaters, complimentary coffee, water and breakfast snacks. In addition, each team receives a professional team photo! Participate Virtually:
Out of town? Responsible for the Thanksgiving meal? Want to sleep in? You can still support SFBFS! Register as a Virtual Participant to receive your bib and shirt, then run/walk when and where you want!
Results and Awards:
Participants have the option to select chip timing and start up front in the timed runner corral. In order to receive an official result and be eligible for overall and age group awards, you must select the timed runner option that includes a timing chip on your bib.
Age Groups:
12 and under; 13-15; 16-18; 19-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80+
Top three finishers in each age group receive medals. All awards will be mailed to the address on file within one week of the race.
The top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K receive plaques and the following prize money:
1st place - $300
2nd place - $200
3rd place - $100
The top three masters (40+) male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K receive plaques and the following prize money:
1st place - $150
2nd place - $100
3rd place - $50
Important Reminders:
Please keep dogs at home...for the safety of both species!
No roller blades, bikes, scooters or skateboards.
Strollers, baby joggers and wagons are welcome in the untimed events. However, they are not allowed in the timed races.
Refunds and transfers are not available because all proceeds support families in need in our community.

There will be several live bands throughout the course on race day! A map of band locations will be posted closer to Thanksgiving Day.
