Big Little Lies may be over, but our obsession is only just beginning, which explains all the conflicting reports about whether there could be a Season 2. Whether or not the show itself continues, a sequel of sorts was already put into motion last summer.
Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, who optioned the rights to Liane Moriarty's novel Big Little Lies before going on to produce and star in the show, also picked up the rights to her follow-up novel. Variety reported in August of 2016 that Witherspoon and Kidman would co-produce the adaptation, but it was unclear whether they would also star. Also unclear is whether this would be a movie, or another limited series.
