How Much You Have To Make In Sacramento To Afford a Home Right Now

A new look at the U.S. housing market shows that housing supply fell to an all time low in the 4th quarter of 2017.

Also the 23 most expensive US housing markets have been revealed, and it is no surprise that the Bay Area and the Sacramento area makes the list.

Sacramento ranks as the 18th most expensive market, with a median sale price for a home around the $350,000 mark. That means that you would need a salary of $66,094 to buy a home at that price.

Reno comes in a 17th, San Francisco/Oakland/Hayward at #2, with a median sale price of $920,000 and a salary needed of $174,000 a year to buy that home.

San Jose/Sunnyvale/Santa Clara came in at number one.
