Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande Drop "Rain On Me" Collaboration

It's here! Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's collaboration, "Rain On Me," has officially arrived and grab your umbrellas, people, because there is a storm of talent pouring out of this song and we are so here for it.

"Rain On Me" follows Gaga's "Stupid Love," and is an absolute dance bop as both pop powerhouses sing about finding the silver lining: "I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive/ Rain on me, rain, rain/ Rain on me, rain, rain."

During an interview with Paper Magazine, Gaga had explained of "Rain On Me" (before the track was revealed to be a collaboration with Grande) that it is a "celebration of tears." She added, "I sat with her [Ariana] and we talked about our lives. It's two women having a conversation about how to keep going and how to be grateful for what you do."

In the day leading up to the "Rain On Me" release, Ariana shared several tweets explaining how much she enjoyed teaming with Lady G on the track. After Gaga had tweeted, "Love u @ArianaGrande let’s do this. Nothing can stop us, we know that now," Ari replied, "i love u so much more. nothing could stop us before either, we just had to realize it ! i’m so excited thank u i’m ready #rainonme."

"Rain On Me" also seems to be a full circle moment for Ariana, as she re-shared a tweet from 2009 — 11 years ago — praising Lady Gaga and how talented she is. The tweet said, "Lady Gaga is the most incredible and dedicated performer I've ever seen. I. Love. Her. Speechless <3."

"Rain On Me" will be featured on Lady Gaga's upcoming sixth full-length studio album, Chromatica, which is set to be released on May 29th. Chromatica is led by "Stupid Love" and showcases 16 new songs including features from Elton John and Blackpink.

In her Paper Magazine interview, she described Chromatica as "dancing through her pain." She said, "It's a smack across the face throughout the album," She added, "We don't stop being that happy. You will hear the pain in my voice and in some of the lyrics, but it always celebrates." Gaga also explained of the meaning behind Chromatica, "It's a perspective. It's right here. I might sound silly, but I'm on it right now — I'm not on another planet. If you see and listen to Chromatica, and you want to live there, too, you're invited. But I do want to be clear that it's not a fantasy."
