Sam Smith Announces New Collaboration With Burna Boy: See The Teaser

Months after releasing "I'm Ready," their collaboration with Demi Lovato, Sam Smith is back with a new single featuring Nigerian mega-star Burna Boy.

On Wednesday (July 29), the pop star, 28, hopped on social media to make the big announcement. "New song 'My Oasis' with @burnaboygram. Released 7.20pm BST tomorrow!!" they captioned the black-and-pink teaser, which paired a dreamy instrumental with footage of water. The song is rumored to be three-minutes-long and produced by Jimmy Naples, who has previously worked on "Writing's On The Wall," the Best Original Song champ at the 88th Academy Awards.

Back in March, the pop star announced the delay in the release of their new album, To Die For, admitting that they were also going to change the title of the LP in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. "I have done a lot of thinking the last few weeks and feel that the title of my album and imminent release doesn't [sic] feel right, so I have come to the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions," they wrote in an open letter to fans.

Nonetheless, Smith revealed that the set will drop later this year. "I will be renaming my album and pushing back the release date — both of which are to be confirmed at this time," they continued. "Don't worry though, there will be an album this year, I promise! But until then I am still going to bring out some new music over the next few months, which I'm incredibly excited about."
