Sam Smith Drops Burna Boy Collaboration 'My Oasis'

Fans got another taste of Sam Smith's forthcoming new album, because the singer dropped their latest track off the project, "My Oasis" featuring Burna Boy.

In the song, Sam compares their love interest to a desert oasis, singing in the first verse, "Keep thinkin' that I'm seein' water/ You're playing tricks on me in the sun/ See your shadow in the courtyard/ Stays until the day is done/ The desert don't end, the rain don't fall/ And I can't pretend I don't want you all."

In a statement, Smith said of the new song, "This track has been a beautiful release of emotions for me during this time. I've been a fan of Burna Boy for years now and am so happy to have a tune with him."

"My Oasis" is the latest track to be released from Sam's upcoming third album. The song follows "I'm Ready" featuring Demi Lovato and "To Die For," which was also the original title of the entire project. At the end of March, Sam announced that the album's release date would be pushed back, and its title would be changed. They shared, "I have done a lot of thinking the last few weeks and feel that the title of my album and imminent release doesn't feel right, so I have come to the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions. I will be renaming my album and pushing back the release date — both of which are to be confirmed at this time."

However, Sam promised fans that the album would be released this year. They added, "Don't worry though, there will be an album this year, I promise! But until then I am still going to bring out some new music over the next few months, which I'm incredibly excited about."
