Justin Timberlake called off his concert in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday (October 8) over an undisclosed injury.

The "Mirror" icon took to social media to share the sad news with fans, assuring that he would "make it up to" ticket holders.

"I'm so sorry to postpone tonight's show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I'm so disappointed to not see you all - but I'm working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show ya'll deserve."

Timberlake closed out his message by thanking fans for their support as he attempts to heal from the mysterious injury that was severe enough for him to have to cancel the show.

A source close to the artist told TMZ that the injury is ankle related and that there was a doctor present at last night's (October 7) show to attend to Timberlake.

The "Cry Me a River" hitmaker was arrested in New York in June and charged for driving while intoxicated. He ended up taking a plea deal in which he was ordered to complete community service hours, pay a $500 fine, and "issue a public safety announcement" for "driving while ability impaired."

Despite legal drama, Timberlake proceeded with his "Forget Tomorrow" tour and is scheduled to take the stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 11th as part of his next show (injury permitting).

A rescheduled date for the Newark show has yet to be announced.
