Thanks to earning and saving up an incredible amount of mileage points, one man named Sam Pratt was able to pull off the ultimate vacation for all 33 of his family members.
Overtime, Pratt had acquired over a million frequent flyer miles with Southwest Airlines! The ages of his family members ranged from as young as two all the way up to 72. This already isn't an ordinary family vacation, but to make it even more special, they had many occasions to celebrate, including some very special and unexpected news.
On the trip the family celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, a gender reveal party, and the more major celebration: Pratt entered remission! He had been facing his battle with cancer for a year.
His daughter, Emily Peterson, said “When we heard the doctors say the words ‘remission’ and that he would be able to live with this type of cancer and then he got cleared to fly, we were just jumping up and down.”
After finding out the amazing news that Pratt's cancer was in remission, in addition to having so many frequent flier miles, hosting a family reunion on vacation in Hawaii seemed like the perfect idea!
Pratt said “I couldn’t think of a better gift to give than travel because not only do you get the travel but you get the memories that go with that.” This is so true and a great point! He added “Never in a million years [did] we think this would be possible. This is a dream. It truly, truly is.”
The entire 33-membered family also agrees and says the trip together was am absolute dream!
