Jennifer Lopez Rocks Iconic Green Versace Dress 19 Years Later

The year is 2000 and it's the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards where Jennifer Lopez both simultaneously broke the Internet (before it was even dubbed a thing) and also helped launch an image search used by people all over the world. And to think, it was all because of one very iconic little green Versace dress.

Fast forward to 2019 and she's slipping back into the legendary dress to help Versace celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Jungle Print” — the same print that the green dress was made from.

The singer closed the spring 2020 Versace show by strutting down the runway in a reimagined version of her iconic plunging green dress. “So this just happened..” she captioned a video posted to Instagram on Friday (September 20).

According to WWD, “A voiceover of Versace filled the room, asking Google to show her pictures of that green Versace dress. After images flooded the screens, Versace’s voice was back to ask to see the real thing, with Lopez then taking the runway.”

As many know, *the dress* is what helped launch the now famous Google Image Search because so many people wanted to see a photo of it. “it was the most popular search query we had ever seen,” Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google, wrote in a 2015 essay. ”But we had no surefire way of getting users exactly what they wanted: JLo wearing that dress. Google Image Search was born.”

This isn't the first time the 50-year-old singer has put us all to shame and showed off her incredible body. Her fiancé has been known to post some pretty steamy pics of his wife-to-be on the Gram and she looks as good as ever!

At this year's iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina in November, Lopez is being honored with the iHeartRadio Premio Corazón Award. She is being recognized for her work with humanitarian organizations including the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, the American Red Cross and the United Nations Foundation, among others.
