School Janitor sets up ‘Giving Closet’ for students in need
Carolyn Collins is a high school janitor in Georgia who is going above and beyond to help students at her school. Carolyn has set up a ‘giving closet’ in an unused storage room at the school. She stocked it with $200 word of food and supplies. Students know they can turn to her at any time and she will let them into the close to take whatever they need.
Snacks, toothbrushes, jackets, socks, deodorant – Carolyn’s ‘giving closet’ has it all.
She says “High School is hard enough without being homeless” and Carolyn estimates the closet has helped 150 students since it opened.
