CA Couple Convicted Of Abusing 12 Of Their Children Sentenced To Life

The Southern California couple who pleaded guilty in February to numerous felony charges for torturing and abusing 12 of their 13 children were sentenced on Friday.

David and Louise Turpin were sentenced to life in prison in what was dubbed the "house of horrors" case, and during an emotional hearing some of the children made their first public statements about the abuse and their feelings toward their parents.

Prosecutors have said the couple would chain their children to furniture, starve them, and only allow them to shower once a year.

During the hearing, David Turpin said his intentions were good, but Louise Turpin said she was sorry. Both opening cried during the statements from their children.

They will be eligible for parole in 25, but they will be on probation for life if ever released from prison.
