PG&E customers are paying even more.
As of yesterday, rates for gas and electricity went up by an average of almost $9 a month or 4.6%. It's part of a package of increases regulators approved in December to cover the cost of wildfire prevention. That includes upgrading outdated equipment, enhancing vegetation management and expanding its weather stations and fire detection camera systems.
