A chimpanzee that escaped from a zoo in Ukraine is safe and sound after its keeper convinced it to ride a bicycle back home.
Earlier in the war, Chichi the chimp was among hundreds of animals that were evacuated from the Feldman Ecopark, an outdoor zoo in the heavily bombarded Kharkiv region. Although the animals that survived the relocation were recently returned to the zoo, Chichi reportedly had problems adjusting to the war-torn landscape and constant sounds of war -- and on Monday, made a break for it, zoo officials say.
Although the chimp's owner followed it, Chichi gave him the slip whenever he got close, according to The Guardian. Finally, on Tuesday, it started to rain -- and Chichi ran right into its owner's arms, video reveals. He put a yellow raincoat on Chichi, set her on a bicycle and the two returned to the Feldman zoo.
